FBX stands for Facebook Exchange Program. This is a device Facebook uses for ad targeting. In case you were unaware, advertisers who are interested in buying ads on Facebook install tracking cookies on your browser so they know what you are searching when online. I do not know about you, but sometimes we are searching some personal subjects online. Again, this is another way that social media exploits us as users.
This interesting photo above is an example of how FBX works. So as I sit here and write this I am thinking to myself, well maybe I can still use Facebook but delete my inernet cookies, but how inconvenient would that be? So I decided to type into a search engine "how to block FBX," ironically nothing comes up except for be aware of FBX. This concept is just reiterating all of things you are giving up when using social media sites when related to your privacy. I personally, deleted every single friend and deactivated my facebook, and am going through the motions to delete my facebook. I feel on one hand yes, facebook is a great way to keep in touch with long lost family members, however, along with that one pro there are so many cons. I do not want to give up any more information to strangers into my world, than they can already discover on their own....
