According to new research, 75 million "virtual" doctor visits, or 1 in 6 within the United States will occur this coming year alone. Frost & Sullivan forecasts that the video "medicine market" will grow at a compound annual rate of 16.7 percent in 2012 to reach more than $600 million in 2017. Hopefully, this will reduce healthcare spending, and improve quality of care to patients.
With all of the current health concerns being raised lately, I cannot help but think this should be the wave of the future. The way that cameras have such amazing picture quality, I feel that a video interview with a physician would be such as effective as long as no procedure was required. This is not only more convenient for the physician but convenient for the sickly as well.
